Beginning as one of the first of five telegraph stations of the Overland Stage Express, the town of Glendo was established at its present location when the railroad came through.
Glendo’s held true to its small-town roots ever since, with one notable exception—the total solar eclipse of 2017. Located at the center of the path of totality, this town of just over 200 residents quickly became a hot spot for sky-watchers, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors before and after the event.
