Platte County offers some great places to grab a bit of food and sit down for a cold (or hot) drink. From mama’s recipes to delicious bbq, you’ll want to taste some of the great cuisine we have in Wyoming’s Platte County.

Wheatland

Windy Peaks Steakhouse & Brewery:  Are you a beer lover?  Then this is your place. 14 brews on tap to suit every palate – and the food is worth every delicious calorie.  Your tastebud’s will burst with joy while you’re at the brewery!

The Hilltop Bar & Grill:  Overlooking the golf course, this new restaurant offers a large menu with daily specials.  Open for lunch and dinner, you’ll really enjoy the food – and the drinks are awesome too.

Arena BBQ: Do you love BBQ?  You’re in for a treat if so.  A favorite local secret with mouthwatering Texas Style (but better in Wyoming) BBQ that will make your taste buds tingle and beg for more.  Pork belly, baby backs, brisket, pork loin …nothing on the menu is a wrong choice. Myrle and Birgit have  ‘delicious’ down to an art form.  They close down for the winter season except for special events so make sure you call ahead.  

Vimbos Resto & Bar:  The owners, Teddy and Johanna, hand make everything with love.  The menu is straight from his grandmother’s recipes, and everything is delicious.  The pancakes are especially out of this world – and the pizza is undeniably one of the best pies in the West.

Western Sky’s:  Home cooked comfort foods abound at Western Sky’s.  A staple in the community – you will find this restaurant busy most anytime of day. 

Tasty Treats:  A small family-owned operation with a smaller menu, but every morsel is delish.  If you’re around on Fridays – they feature Prime Rib and Shrimp to die for!

The Whisk: Miss your mama’s cooking? Then stop in at The Whisk.  Rosetta always has something yummy on the stove.  From delicious soups, loaded bakers, sandwiches on freshly baked rolls to special menu items and  homemade desserts it’s all excellent. If she has fresh BAKED cinnamon rolls-grab some. You won’t be sorry.  Only open until 3 it’s a great lunch spot! 

Los Domingos: Dios mio!  Homemade Mexican food is delicious, and the salsa here will make your mouth water with deliciousness AND heat. Good food, easy going atmosphere and a great place to stop in for some food and a cold cerveza!

Guadalajara’s Mexican Restaurant: Everything is good at Guada’s  – as the locals call it.  If you love churros, be sure to try theirs! They are worth the cheat!  As for everything else, it’s all delicious from start to finish – you can’t go wrong with any choice.  Mario, the manager is a kick and one of the happiest guys around. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear him singing.

Remember, be friendly to your servers and tip well.  We love our service people, and they work their tootsies off keeping everyone happy. 

If you’re in a rush, some of your favorite fast food places are around including Subway, Pizza Hut, Arby’s, Taco John’s and A & W Rootbeer and Chops.

Guernsey

Ben’s Bar:  The drinks are cold and strong, and the pizza will stop you in your tracks. Not kidding.  Best pizza in town!  Hands down!

Twisters:  Can’t beat a homecooked breakfast or lunch at Twisters.  Fresh, good food and friendly service. What’s not to love?

Crazy Tony’s:  Great food and cold drinks.  If you’re yearning for a home cooked meal, then you might want to try Tony’s.  From the hamburgers to the homemade Roast Beef and their “crazy” specials.  We think you’ll like it!

Kelly’s Bar:  Step in for a cold drink with good people.  It’s everything you expect an Irish Pub in Wyoming to be.

Chugwater

Stampede Saloon & Eatery:  You’ll love the food and the live music.  Mer, the owner, books in some of the region’s best talent.  If you like music, great drinks and food – this is the place to go.

Chugwater Soda Fountain:  Steeped in history, the Soda Fountain features a simple menu for food and the best shakes and ice cream treats in town. 

Glendo

Bullfrog’s Grill: What’s not to love about a place that has 70 different milkshakes on their menu! They have fresh beef for their hamburgers and lots more!

Micke’s Family Restaurant: Amazing American Cuisine! Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beer, wine and mixed drinks available. Family owned and operated, Wednesday nights are all you can eat homemade chicken fried steaks.

Old Western Saloon: Step back into time and enjoy a steak prepared the way you like it! A Historical Saloon and Steakhouse for 100 years. The bar came from Italy in the 1800’s was in the Chicago World Fair, and then did a short stint in Deadwood before making its home here in Glendo.

Rooch’s Glendo Marina: Great place to take a break from the reservoir and enjoy some amazing bar food!!

Hartville

Miners & Stockman’s Steakhouse.  If you want some amazing meat and potatoes style food, then you want to go to Hartville. From the handcrafted Prime Ribeye’s cooked to perfection to the homemade strawberry lover’s dream cake or other specialties – this eatery is a favorite far and wide.
